Although it is not necessarily a quote, I would like to quote Dr. Seuss. This quote story has given to me by one of my teachers, and I have always remembered this page as it has deeply impacted me! I hope that a piece of it will settle in your heart as it has mine.
I am sure that it wouldn't come as a surprise to anyone to know that this is also my FAVORITE children's book. It has so many peeks and valleys and really lets you in on the way life can really be. Everyone experiences ups and downs, and this story really shows you how you can take a stand and look at those times in your life in a negative way, or you can stand up, dust of off your knees and keep going! I have used this book during my own struggles, and moments when I to uplift my attitude. This story has so many lessons, and fits SO many situations that to me that it is an quintessential life story. If you haven't taken the time to read it, I implore you Please do.
ReplyDeleteHi Samantha,
DeleteI do agree that life does have it's up and downs. It takes a strong individual to try and survive through it all. We can give out but we must not give up. Life is truly a test that sometimes appear difficult to master.
Wow, sounds like a great moral book to read. I wonder how I missed this book but will definitely read this book later! Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteSamantha,
ReplyDeleteIt is so true. We are masters of our destiny. My teachers will say, "I have no money to go to school." I say, " I will find some." My kids say, "I can't work that job I won't have enough time for my studies." I say, "Let's make time. I will show you how to use your time well."....We live in a country that makes so many things possible.
Dr. Suess brings it down to an age appropriate level. From the time my oldest daughter could talk I referred to her birthmark, which is quite extensive on her arm,as her gift. To this day she calls it her gift and speaks of it in the positive.
Thank you for this!! It is something to remember and encourage
